Parents...Thank you all SO VERY much for all of your kind words and generosity during Teacher Appreciation week last week. I was truly overwhelmed at the thoughtfulness of all of you and your families. The children came in to school everyday with such excitement!! It was a wonderful week for us all! My sincere thanks to all of you:)
On a side note...I'm sorry for my lack of my pictures. My camera broke so it's been difficult to capture all of our AMAZING learning experiences. Hoping to get my hands on a new one very soon so I can continue uploading more pictures of our end of year activities!
One more heads up...we are working on our final reader's theatre titled "1st Grade Adventures" An invitation will be sent home soon!! Hope you can join us!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!
Today has started our FINAL 6th 6 weeks! Our Awards Assembly will be this Friday!
We have implemented a new Incentive Game for our last 6 weeks. To sum it up, the children will have to "earn" points everyday. One white puff ball = 1 point. One colored puff ball = 5 points. This week their goal is to earn 50 points. Next week's goal is 60 points, and so on...The final week's goal is 100 Points.
How do they earn points? Everytime I see them staying on task...stretching their brain....helping out a friend....they get a puff ball in the cup. At the end of each day, the star student of the week will tally up the "points" and add it to our Points Chart. This is also extending our Math lessons in graphing. They will work on adding and subtracting by figuring out how many points are needed throughout the rest of the week to meet their goal. If they have met their goal by the end of the week, they will receive a "reward"!
It's the end of the year and we are getting a bit restless:) This will hopefully be a wonderful and positive way to keep them excited and learning until the last day of school!!

Peep Experiments...
We made predictions and observations as to what will happen to our "peeps" when we put them in vinegar, water, sprite, and apple juice. This is an ongoing experiment that we will be writing and drawing about each day this week!!
